Roberto’s Reef is an extensive and confusing area of lava, the top of which is 15 - 18 metres deep. We descend into a narrow gully which drops down to 30 metres, this is the area where many fish congregate. The walls of the gulley are undercut and offer homes to many varieties of moray eel and anemone, often large groupers are also seen here. At the end of the gulley stands a large rock where stingrays are often found sleeping. If there is time we can explore a natural rock arch with hundreds of silver and golden coloured roncadores and other grunts, after which we head back toward the anchor
