The name means, “The small caves”, and is an interesting dive site for all levels of experience. Being volcanic in origin, Tenerife and the cliffs of Los Gigantes contain a number of caverns, some of which are safe to explore. This dive is best done as a drift dive. After checking the current direction our boat skipper will drop us off at one end of a rocky ledge which runs parallel to the cliffs of Los Gigantes. The ledge is undercut with lots of small caves. As the dive is not deep from 6 to 16 metres lots of time can be spent exploring under the ledges and in the small caves which provide home to many adolescent fish, morays, octopi and Canarian lobsters. |
