Why Discover Scuba Diving?
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in pool or pool-like conditions. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and head off to experience an open water adventure.

What will I do?
When you participate in a Discover Scuba Diving program, you discover excitement and adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows the feeling! You will Discover Scuba on an actual dive site, and experience the underwater world which is only seen by qualified divers, under the guidance and supervision of a PADI Professional.


How long will it take?
Get ready to dive today. Whether you watch the short PADI Discover Scuba video, or are briefed with the Discover Scuba Diving Flip Chart, you'll enter the water quickly and ready for your scuba adventure. The whole diving experience only takes approximately 2 - 2½ hours!

Where can I go from here?
As soon as you Discover Scuba Diving, you're on your way to an internationally recognized certification. Why PADI Scuba Diver?
The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a couple times a year.
As a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver program, the PADI Scuba Diver qualification allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints. How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Generally, we find that the course can be completed in between two and three days.

The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive and three additional Adventure Dives,(a total of five), you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

Why Emergency First Response?
Emergency First Response (EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training organization. Dedicated to training the lay rescuer, EFR courses encompasses adult, child and infant CPR skills, provides AED and First Aid training, and feature an outstanding First Aid at Work component. Why PADI Rescue Diver?
The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.


What do I need to start?
· PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another diver training organisation)
· Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program (such as the Emergency First Response Course) within the past 24 months.


What will I do?
· Knowledge Development and assessment
· Completion of Ten Rescue Training Exercises
· Four Open Water Rescue Scenarios
· Prior to Knowledge Development Presentation Two and Rescue Training Session Two, the PADI Rescue Diver course student diver must successfully complete a sanctioned course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-Primary Care) and basic first aid (Secondary Care) within the past two years (24 months). Emergency First Response is an ideal qualification.


How long will it take?
· The course can be completed in approximately 4 to 5 days. Including all knowledge development, in water training and open water scenarios.

Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. The British Sub Aqua Club

The BSAC was born over 50 years ago as a club for divers, and remains so today, in fact it’s the biggest diving club in the world.

This course will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open Water diving. Learning to dive is all about learning to use your equipment properly and safely. The Ocean Diver training course concentrates on preparing you for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and then introducing you to Open Water in a controlled and safe manner. This also gives you the opportunity to practice safety skills in the company of a qualified instructor.


What is a BSAC Ocean Diver?
An Ocean Diver is defined as a diver who is competent to conduct dives:
· With another Ocean Diver or with a Sports Diver, within the restrictions of the conditions already encountered during their training.
· With a Dive leader, or higher grade, to expand their experience beyond the conditions encountered during their training, under the supervision of a Dive Marshal.
· To a depth which is initially limited to the maximum experienced during training, but which can subsequently be extended progressively under the supervision of a Nationally Qualified Instructor to a maximum of 20 m.
· Not requiring mandatory safety stops.
· Under the on-site supervision of a Dive Marshall with respect to site selection, conditions and dive plan.
· Where other divers, capable of providing assistance and rescue, are available at the surface.
· Within BSAC safe diving practice recommendations

In Sports Diver training, the emphasis is on building a sound foundation of Open Water diving skills and experience through a series of structured practical lessons. Once you have gained this Open Water experience with a qualified Instructor, you are ready to take part in dives with other Sports Divers or those of higher grades.

What is a BSAC Sports Diver?
A Sports Diver is defined as a diver who is competent to:
· Conduct dives with an Ocean Diver within the restrictions of the conditions already encountered by the Ocean Diver during their training, and under the supervision of a Dive Marshal.
· Conduct dives with another Sports Diver within the restriction of the conditions already encountered by their training or previous experience.
· Conduct dives with a Dive Leader or higher grade, to expand their experience beyond that previously encountered, under the supervision of a Dive Marshal.
· Dive to a depth which is initially limited to 20m, but which can subsequently be extended progressively, under the supervision of a Nationally Qualified Instructor to a maximum of 35m.
· Plan and conduct dives requiring mandatory decompression stops.
· Rescue a casualty and provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
· Conduct dives where other divers, capable of providing assistance and rescue management skills, are available at the surface.
· Conduct dives within BSAC safe diving practice recommendations.


What do I need to start?
You will need to be a BSAC Ocean Diver, or have a recognized Entry Level qualification in Scuba Diving, equivalent to BSAC Ocean Diver, and be a member of the BSAC.

What will I do?
The Sports Diver course consists of six classroom lessons, a theory assessment, a dry practical lesson, one sheltered water lesson and five open water lessons.

How long will it take?
All practical training in both sheltered and open water includes the achievement of specific performance standards at appropriate points throughout the lessons. Generally, we find that the course can be completed in between four and five days.

What is included in the course fees?
· BSAC Sports Diver Training Pack – including Sports Diver Student notes and qualification page for binder.

Where can I go from here?

Dive Leader training concentrates on the responsibility and safety aspects on leading other divers on an Open Water dive. Practical lessons in Rescue Management Skills will give you the confidence and ability to deal with those unforeseen emergencies.
Leading a dive will develop your enjoyment, confidence and experience as a diver.

What is a BSAC Dive Leader?
A Dive Leader is defined as a diver who:

· Can plan and lead a range of dives including those requiring detailed dive, air and decompression requirements planning.
· Has the skill and level of knowledge to progressively extend his / her skills to take part in a wide range of adventurous dives.
· Has rescue management skills.
· Is competent to marshal and supervise branch dives to locations well known to the branch, or using experienced skippers, or in conditions not normally described as “challenging”
· Can dive to a depth which is initially limited to 35m, but which can subsequently be extended progressively to 50m.
· Can conduct dives with divers of any grade to expand their experience beyond that previously encountered by those divers, under the supervision of a dive marshal.
· Can conduct experience dives with trainee Ocean Divers, within the restrictions of the conditions already encountered by the trainee Ocean Diver, under the supervision of a dive marshal.

What do I need to start?
You will need to be a qualifies BSAC Sports Diver with a minimum of twenty dives in a range of conditions, since qualifying as Sports Diver, or equivalent diver training from another organization.

What will I do?
The Ocean Diver and Sports Diver Courses were biased towards learning skills and knowledge while underpinning this with appropriate experience. The Dive Leader course continues to build on these skills and knowledge, but the experience element becomes increasingly important.
The Dive leader Course consists of twelve classroom lessons, a theory assessment, seven Open Water lessons and two dry practical lessons.

How long will it take?
All practical training in both sheltered and open water includes the achievement of specific performance standards at appropriate points throughout the lessons. Generally, we find that the course can be completed in between six and seven days. (Providing that the candidate is adequately prepared)

What is included in the course fees?
· BSAC Dive Leader Training Pack – including the “Dive Leading” manual, Dive Leader Student notes and qualification page for binder.

There is still more to learn, still more experiences to be gained. Pursue your interests, go diving, pass on your knowledge and experience to others. Aim for the BSAC Advanced Diver qualification or follow the BSAC Instructor training route.
